be honest, you won't have to remember anything and your soul will be free from the guilt of lying. Your friend may not like afterward but will respect you for your honesty.

Unless the guy you're in love with is your friend's boyfriend or husband, why would you have to give up the friendship? If you've shared every secret with your best friend for nine long years, how can your friend not know that you're so much in love? Either you haven't shared the most important secret of your life with her, the fact that you are madly in love for one of two reasons: either you are in love with her man or, if not, she disapproves of the guy you are in love with. Either way, this isn't as much of a friendship as you think it's been.

I'm not sure I understand the question but it seems if you and your friend were true friends with complete trust and they guy/gal was the one closest to your heart, (I'm assuming there is also trust and love here) there would be no need to betray one or the other.

If you have to betray one or the other to be happy with one of them, then you're not a true friend, nor are you being honest, least of all to yourself.
To betray someone to be with someone else, won't get you very far. Karma will get you, and in the end you'll lose them both.

something is wrong if you have to choose.
a true frind or love would never ask you to give up ther orther person if its a healthy relationship (both).
if someone is saying somethng is wrong with the other examine it.
talk to somoene a therapist or at least somoen older and not involved and give details of why.
whats going on that you are being asked this.. need to know to give any reasonable advice..
good luck!

I would say "yes",because even the Bible which i consider to be the word of God,support my respond.Jesus said "he has not come to bring peace but war against sons of man".This means if you really love Jesus Krist the son of GOD you would proberbly leave aside your friends and family members if they dont do as you do!This is because they will keep you away from the person you love.

I would never betray my best friend for any reason at all. Lovers come and go but true friends are here forever.

if u betray ur friend ..trust me u won't find peace in the relationship for which u did this.......
being wrong to one thing leads to be wrong + disfaithful in urself......
n moreoever if u can't take a stand 4 ur friendship then let me ask "r u sure that ur love is so strong that u r thinking to leave ur friend.."

if your friends is truly your friend, then tell her about how you're feeling. if she doesn't understand, then keep with the best friend. because you dont know that this guy you love now will work out in a relationship. and then you wont have him or your best friend. so talk to her aobut it, but if she gets upset, dont act on it. best friends are forever.
