Then how is it that some things are refreshing though repetitive ?
After a weary long walk in hot climate , a first sip of cool water, a deep breath of 'fresh-feeling' air after coming out of an air-conditioned room, a refreshing bath after a drive on a dusty road, the first mouthful of food on a very very hungry stomach... and so on ?
Well, the common element in the above examples are the intelligence at cellular level insists on 'our' participation in satiation of thirst, hunger, starved lungs etc... and the mind is just unable to interfere with its memory reminders, and the results are instantaneous from perception angle of the sense organs. Where as raking the autumn leaves are a compulsion due to convention, or some unforeseen consequence.....
All these things apart, was any day the same ever ?
Are we the same, with each day of experience added?
Only some moments make us feel, and we add fuel to this thought of repetitive tasks, and search for 'some' meaning !
Just think of the possibility of deepening the levels of perception , beyond sense organs, starting with keeping all the sense organs fully receptive, and the awareness very sharp. Nothing to lose anyway, since it enhances the quality and ability to focus mind in a relaxed manner !

oh no ya gotta think differently dear.
i think of it as a challenge but the outdoor work can be fun.
for me i'd rake them up and jump in them until the feeling hits that i had as a child.. the stench of the leaves the pile i fall into caressing me... the scents of fall beckoning.. the rich sunset capsizing into the landscape.
do you do halloween? seems to me you need to do something and have a party... ???? you need some spice in your life.. even if it's small things.
cleaning the bathroom? just clean it.. and use incense to give it a lovely scent.. (if you can take the smells if you don't have allergies) and then when it's done.... why not get some candles when you shop? a buncha white ones.. different sizes and place them all over the bathroom and while you get those candles get some bath pampering items... oils, rose pedals.. bubble baths... and after the bathroom is all cleaned and looking refreshed why not enjoy the cleaness and jump into the tub with the suds and a glass of wine and light up all those candles and turn off the lights... :D
cooking can be fun... when you shop get things you've not tried before and you always wanted to.. get spices, sauces... wines... try new recipes... have a candle light dinner with the new meals you try out with your friend of choice or the old man..? :D
think on those terms.. hell why not try a whole new atmosphere with the house entirely?
try different lighting? hell why not go all out decorating for xmas?
try that light o' rama stuff? put the lights to music, get a giant inflatable airblown santa? dress up like ms. clause and give out presents?
you can do it on a budget and you can do it if ya got skill!
and it'll release endorphins and also help you with new ideas to keep you entised to 'carry on' when you feel like you've already carried enough.
meditate also with some darkness and candles with nice incense burning to set another mood inside that head.
?
these are just small beginings for suggestions as you practise making up new ways and 'adventures' to maintain the decorum of the daily routine... you can plan parties or get togethers or find new ways and ideas to revamp the usual and the home... and yourself.
why not just splurge sometimes... that sure helps too.
:D
plant a garden? landscape a tiny bit.. little things...

Because life is stagnant if you stop running. If you stop playing catch up, you'll be left behind. And although life seems like one endless row of repetitive tasks that are both menial and meaningless, what else can you do?
That said, don't forget that life has so much to offer. That sweet smile of a loved one, perhaps a bouquet of flowers as a nice surprise. The things that first made you feel truly alive. Don't forget them unless you want to become a whinger!
(I'd rake your leaves for you if I could. Don't forget that, either. Life has its ups after every down.)

Yes, a lot of our lives does seem to consist of routine tasks, repetitiveness, drudgery, but that's why we have to keep it interesting! Once you've done the housework, whatever you need to do, break your routine by doing something unexpected, out of character. Take a class, start a new hobby, do something wild & crazy! Life is only as interesting as we make it. Even our boring tasks can be made a little more fun. Blast your favourite music & dance while cleaning the house! Make something unusual for dinner! Life is to be enjoyed!

Your not meant to be happy all the time and have excitement every minute, that is a lie we are feed by the media. Life is meant to enjoy those moments of non-repetitiveness, life is about living, even if it is boring and repetitive. Think about all the hours people waste going to the bathroom, you could be doing something else much better, but if you don't go to the bathroom, you'll die....so I guess we have no choice but to do what we have to do.

civilized people do these things, so that it doesn't become so bad they can't do it. If you didn't clean your bathroom all year, or maybe two years, it would get so filthy that it would take you much more time to clean it than it would have if you would have maintained it all that time. And besides....what else do you have in mind to do all the time? Life would be boring. When you rake your leaves, admire the beauty of them. Smell the breeze and thank God that you can.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but - YOUR life is boring. Do this: Look around you and find someone whose life you think is more exciting than yours. Talk to them. Ask them what makes it worth getting out of bed in the morning. Try a job that benefits someone in a spiritual way - that is, get a job that isn't just for money. Work part time at the zoo feeding baby animals, or take a sick kid out for a drive or a walk - Crippled Children's Hospital could really use more volunteers. Basically, if you see people less fortunate than you, people who live with pain or loss, your life will look much rosier.

It's called living. A human being, continues to be. Anything you stop giving attention to will deteriorate and die. Think what your home would look like if you stopped giving it your attention. You really sound down. I hope you cheer up soon. I enjoy my life, and consider each day a blessing. With-out being here this day, I wouldn't have the love of my husband, and grandmother, that live with me. Living, Loving, is enough reason for me to go on each day. Your question makes me think you are looking for a reason for living. I call that being. Thinking, and doing. Everything you see around you was once a thought, before it became a thing. Thoughts create things in our lives. I think, therefore I Am. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Do you also not like to brush your hair or get ready to go out? There are these things which we must do from time to time which are a apart of life. I'm 27 and still hate to clean, but I hate even more the idea of living in filth.

It is called living. We can only store so much and then it has to be replenished. The same is true for all of nature. Thus, we go in cycles. Just as life itself mimics nature, one day you will replenish something's stores.
