Okay, look the setting is Zuckerman's farm, and the State Fair Grounds, the first initiating event is when Mr. Zuckerman is going to kill Wilbur (the pig) because he is the runt, but Fern Zuckerman stops him and takes care of the pig. When Wilbur becomes older the rat, Templeton, tells him that he is going to be turned into bacon. Charlotte (the spider) decides that she is going to help Wilbur. Charlotte writes messages in her web such as "some pig" and "terrific" to keep Wilbur alive. The theme or message is friendship/helping others who are different.

Charlotte's Web is a wonderful book. The theme has something to do with trying really, really hard to be worthwhile to others. You should read it.

The book is about a spider and a pig that become friends. It's full of imagination and that is something that doesn't come across well on a Q&A forum, so read the book!

theme is friendship/helping others even if they are different; the main setting is the barn on the Zuckerman's farm (Fern's Uncle), however there are scenes at Fern's home and the fair grounds; the problem is how to save Wilbur from becoming bacon; check out www.sparknotes.com
