Currently, a very heated debate is being conducted across the UK media about Moslem woman wearing Hijab, Burkas and veils.

Once again, I see this as just an excuse by moslems to claim victim hood that will give them the moral right to protest.

Lets start wearing Balaclavas, Hoodies and Baseball Caps as part of our cultural identity.

We already do.

As mentioned, some of us already do.

It hasn't made a difference up until now. This is not new. If it is important to see a person's face in a job then there should be no repercussions in not employing them if their Religion does not allow this. This whole racism/sexism/culturalism thing is getting out of hand.

Perhaps times should change a bit. Maybe Religion has to make allowances for identification etc?

By the way, I'm a burglar and can't find the colour balaclava I would like on the high street. Can anyone help?

Balaclavas originated in Balaclava in Tsarist Russia, Baseball is a game played in the USA and only God knows where Hoodies came from. One thing is certain: they are not part and parcel of UK cultural identity!

Go ahead - wear an SAS balaclava to work. Let's see how far you get. Hope you've got blue eyes. Leave a bit of blond hair showing. And don't forget that left-handed people are all homicidal maniacs.

As neither Balaclava ,hoodies or baseball caps are English by origin .that sounds about right that you would want to take them as part of your culture .you do with must things .......Tea the national drink don't see any English farms growing it .......The national dish of England is not fish and chips anymore it's curry .i bet you've had a few kebabs in your time ....the problem is people like you always have to have some thing or some one to put down...If it's not Muslims its blacks .If it's not blacks is Chinese...You know what if every one was to leave tomorrow .And just left white people here .idiots like you would still moan about some thing .You'll be coming on yahoo answer (because you feel brave hiding behind a computer screen) Posting questions like ...Blondes are you sick of them or some other hair colour .Or would it be dam those green eyed people ..Or will it be short or tall people you start on .the list goes on it's stupid .If you had a real beef about this veil thing no problem i respect that .i don't but if you did .do sometime about it .go to your MP ,vote or not vote as the case may be ..hold a rally .do some thing up front .instead of coming on here hiding behind yahoo

Yes, I agree 100% with you. I am a Born-Again-Christian and still claim this is a Christian country. Personally I think the Hijab, Veils, should be disallowed. The Muslims are claiming they are continually being targeted and yet it's us, the British Public who have to tip-toe around everything so as not to "Offend" Muslims.

I can list hundreds of things that I feel we are being victims of because of Muslims continually claiming their rights for everything and anything. I can also say that I feel offended if I am walking past a group of Muslims, they don't want to talk to us, the don't want to integrate with us. As for the Veil, that's just another excuse for another Muslim debate. That woman schoolteacher went to that school to get a job without a veil for the interview, then once she gets the job, she puts on a veil and refuses to take it of because of her faith, that's ridiculous, and proves she knows what she was doing, causing trouble, now she's upset because she only gets £1000 compensation, well that spells "Greed" to me.

Now she's going to take the matter to the European Court, I just hope they have the common sense to dismiss her case. Maybe I'll go for a job with a dustbin over my head, and say that "with this bin I can only communicate with other people" if I don't get a job, then I can take it to court and become rich.........I don't think! But what's the difference....?

donning a balaclava ought to probably be with the point of preserving heat while a burkha has no different obtainable objective different than concealing your face. i know precisely what you're getting at. you may desire to admit in spite of the undeniable fact that that a bloke going around in a balaclava is rather frightening, in spite of the undeniable fact that. i'm getting merely a similar whilst i purchase petrol on my bike.

I can't really see those veiled women approving of all the men wearing black balaclavas, although they would possibly approve of western women doing it if they didn't realise they were taking the piss.

If you wanted to wear an SAS style balaclava, I would defend your right to do so without hesitation.

If we were to ban wearing them, do you imagine that criminals would no longer wear them when comitting rapes or armed robberies?

"Oooh, I mustn't wear a balaclava when I'm holding up this bank clerk....I might get nicked....."

Grow up they have every right to feel slighted when it comes down to their religious style of dress that has been around for thousands of years. What if Christians couldn't wear their crosses etc... and no I am not Muslim
