hey, i'm one too. if u want to talk, message me. i have sites u can go to to talk to others like ourselves, sites for u to look for ur father and half-siblings, and other things. it's good to talk to others like us who understand the situation and to get to know their perspectives.

Unless you have access to a lot of people and places, you would have not known about this!!!! Normally the child is never revealed the identity of the process and the donor. Imagine the desperation your parents would have had after years of futile trials and huge amounts spent on a progeny. As a last resort, they would have decided to have a progeny who is atleast 50% their own. Your dad was magnanimous to accept the fate and agree for an IVF or AI. I am sure they love you more than any daughter/son born to them from their own share.
Now coming down to the core, understand that only motherhood is the truth but fatherhood is a belief and it is true that most of the afthers who claim as fathers may not be the real fathers due to several reasons!!
So be brave! There is nothing wrong done by anybody. I dont know whether you know Hindu mythology- several characters were born from omnipresent gods like Sun, Moon etc and not from their real fathers and they were all considered normal!! So from time immemorial, this practice would have been there!!!

Every baby is the product of a sperm donor. Could be a husband, a boyfriend, the racehorse down the road. But, the bottom line is that sperm is produced in the males...

my husband cannot produce sperm so therefore we are going to have to conceive through a donor and neither of see a problem wih it because a father is someone who is there for u not just the actual sperm given!!

Well, I can't say I can relate to you, no. I think that for various reasons, artificial insemination is sort of a way of giving mother nature a nudge. That's all I can really say about it. It's neither bad or good unless you think it is personally.

That would be a shock but you know in the large scheme of life - it doesn't matter other than maybe wanting to know medical history and wondering who your biological father might be. I think it's great for parents who are unable to conceive on their own but it also leaves me a bit befuddled wondering about the consequences of not knowing how many siblings you may have or if you know any of them.

I don't see this as a negative thing. Have you been able to find details of why donor sperm was used? If it was due to infertility then your parents took what steps they needed to to bring you into the world. You should be proud of them that they were able to tell you.

Actually I thought of doing this myself at one point in my life because my husband is unable to have children. I think it is just as natural as any other form. But it doesn't matter how you were concieved but that you were wanted and are loved.
