I met and subsequently married my husband within 8 months.

We've been married for 8 years now and together for nearly 9 years.

if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

We talked about it 3 weeks after dating. The important part is that you wait one full year before actually following through.

If you love each other, you'll wait a year - a lot can be discovered within a year.

One thing I can tell you is that all the couples I know who didn't wait atleast one year have had failed marriages.

So get engaged and wait =)

At least a year. When you get down to the months, you don't know each other well enough. Knowing a person before marriage is very important.

Marriage is a lifetime commitment, so personally I'd wait at least 2 years. During this time you can get to know a person well enough to make a wise decision.

when the heart thinks its right but long enough to get to know the real person because we have the tendency to show only the good at first we try not to hurt the others feelings or make them upset

Take it from one who took the plunge too quickly ~ so on that note, I would say at least 2 years. Good Luck!

to be honest it depends on your personal prefenerce none can tell you what to do! i mean you want to spend a good amount of time with someone to work out if you could spend the rest of your life with them. but when it feels right and you know its right your decision is final

There is no set time. Only when the two of you think the time is right for you.
