I strongly desire it to be true that you will have a good time in Liverpool. Although I have never been there, I have visited over 20 countries and have some general tips. Ask a cab driver lots of questions. Put some cash in your shoe. Not too much ale. Wear clean underware. Visit a Church. Buy CDs of local music, something by the Beatles perhaps. Make a friend and get him/her to show you around. Stop in a pub or bar and ask questions, get the local stories. Eat something at a nice local restarant/pub that you can't get anywhere else. Buy a newspaper. Give a homeless person a couple bucks, more if you can. Don't dress like a tourist, buy clothes if you have too. And, always be aware of your surroundings, think safety, be smart.
Have Fun

You have to go on a ferry 'cross the Mersey.
Go to Albert dock.
There you will find The Beatles Experience (you can also pick up the magical mystery tour bus from here), a museum or two and the Tate Modern Liverpool as well as some pubs etc.
The Cathedrals are nice to see as well.

you should go to the liverpool clubs. i go to baby blue or baby cream on the albert dock. ive actualy seen many liverpool football players in baby blue. ive seen peter crouch and john arne riise. theres many other clubs to go to they are all fabulous. the walkabout, the baracuda and loads others. also go shopping in the town centre , like st johns shopping. theres tons of shops. dont forget to see the tate museum and the art gallery. if you like l;iverpool go on the andield grounds tour. and if you want to get any of the players signatures go to the melwood traing ground nice and early and the players as there driving in stop to talk to people and sign autographs.

Go and have a look at the bells in the Anglican Cathedral! The trip up to them is awsome! Wouldnt recommend it with a hangover though!
