Tell him soon, coz it will show & for him/her to find out that way it's no good. Be upfront & tell them that you understand their situation of you out of action in the future. Be proactive, give suggestions, plans & affirm that you understand the employer point of view. Hopefully this will encourage them to keep you & arrange a part time position in the near future for you.

Unless there are more specific laws regarding maternity leave in your state, federal law requires that your employer give you 12 weeks unpaid leave only if all of these apply:
~The company has at least 50 employees within a 50-mile radius
~You've been working for the company at least for 1 year
~ You are not in the top 5% pay/compensation bracket
I would check with your state laws regarding this. Also, many employers fire employees for other things, like if you are constantly late because you have morning sickness, they can fire you for that and not get into trouble. So you need to still be able to reasonably perform well on the job even if you're pregnant, otherwise, they can fire you.

You may want to tell them now. You are very far along and to have not disclosed that information when you hired was misleading. I know you were probably nervous and were afraid that they wouldn't hire you based on your condition.
I think you should have a meeting with your boss and discuss it. Let he/she know that this will not affect your ability to do the job. If you are serious about keeping your job then you may want to schedule all of your appointments in the morning that way you could stay later if needed. Do some research and find out how long your maternity leave will be and see if you can come up with some other things that may ease the blow.

When I was three months pregnant, I got a job at a school. I didn't disclose that in my interview because I knew I probably wouldn't have gotten hired. A month later, I told my boss and she was totally pissed.
Tell your boss, but be careful... Lots of places, including the place where I worked, WILL find a reason to fire you. They will say it's for some other reason, but it's discrimination and you can sue them for that.
If you ARE fired, contact EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) and file a complaint. Their lawyers will find a case and sue your company for lots of money, as well as make them feel ashamed and embarassed for what they did. Worked for me :)

You need to tell him as soon as possible. Waiting will only make it worse. If you have benefits you are protected under the Family Medical Leave Act, which will give 12 weeks per year of time off, supposedly without fear of being fired. You will have to fill out paper work and your doctor will have to sign some stuff too. It takes a bit for the process to go through so you need to get started. Maternity leave is covered.

How do you think he will react? When I started my job I was 5 months pregnant. I was really going back to the place I worked and I already knew that 4 girls had gotten pregnant and fired. I knew it was because they were pregnant. So I was terrified to tell them. I came into it trying to do such an great job that when I told them I was pregnant, they wouldn't want to fire me. Well it worked and I have now come back from maternity leave and I still have a job. Good Luck and go with your instincts.

you have to tell your employer by the 15th week before your due date & i would tell them ASAP as you are very well covered by employment laws (you basically can not mess around with a pregnant woman). They would need to also do a risk assesment on your job so its better for you. You are also entitled to paid time off for doctor appointments and anti natal class's, congrat's and good luck

You shouldn't worry about it, you've been there for one month already, that gives you the 5 months now, which will put you at 6 months employment, that's admirable in itself these days. They can't discriminate you because you're going to be a mom. :).

i would tell him now. no sense waiting. you are going to start to show soon and then what are you going to do? They have to give you time off when baby comes. So don't worry about it. Your boss should be human enough to understand! :)

Legally, you don't have to tell them at all. Of course, if you're expecting Maternity leave, they'll need to know.
This happens all the time, and your boss will understand.
