Let's make a situation. Let's say if I were friends with someone for a long time (about like 7 years), then, suddenly we're not friends anymore. But I left some of my items over their house. If they won't let me have my stuff back, or go to their house to get it back, could I sue? Thanks.

Talk to your friend and let your friend know that you want your stuff back. If your items can be easily replaced, don't even bother trying to retrieve them. If your friend does not coporate, have a police escort you to your friend's house and get your stuff back. Otherwise, take your friend to a small claim's court and sue. Make sure that you've kept the receipt for your items so you can have some kind of evidence. It breaks my heart that a 7 year friendship had to come to an end like this. Keep your head held up high and you will get through this. I hope my advice helps. Good luck.

You need to get a police escort. That is the best way of getting your stuff back. Unless you have receipts on your things that you left there...you can't really sue.

What's the "stuff" ?

If it can be replaced, don't bother to retrieve it. Let the person keep it because it isn't worth the trouble.

If it is worth money and you want it back, sue in small claims court.

How long ago did you leave your things over their? Call her and tell her that if she does not give you your things, that you are going to come over with the police, and if that does not work, then you sue, tape the conversation, for proof.

Is is really worth it to you to go through all that? Seven years of being friends is a long time and than to get into a nasty law suit- maybe jsut chuck it up to a loss and let it go.

First by making a phone call tell them quietly to return, if they don't answer in co-operative manner tell what steps you are planning to take up and ask are you OK with it?
