I think its a disgrace that we cant be proud of our nation and traditions without being branded a racist!!!
If people want to live in our country then fine, but they should abide by our laws and traditions or just go back to where they came from!!!

I fully agree that there is a very fine line, that may have disappeared between these two things.
A white british male can talk about his country and how good it is. He can say it is being ruined by one thing or another. But as he tries to express the love for his country he can suddenly be called a racist for no particular reason.
On the other side of this, a black man or man of ethnicity can sing the praises of his country from dusk 'til dawn', 7 days a week, and he is a proud, patriotic man.
Why? Too much political correctness and liberalism.

I oppose immigration not because I am a racist but because I feel its causing problems in Britain! I am a patriot but I have issues the with our lax immigration laws and the divide in society and feel that I am not able to voice these opinions without being branded a racist!
Thus with all the political correctness of Modern Day Britain there appears to be a fine line between the two!!!!

Its very unfair that anyone who is patriotic about Wales/Scotland/England/Britain is accused of being a BNP member and a racist.
You can be proud of your country and still be welcoming of other races etc. I have as much respect for Indian Britons, Black Britons and so forth who live as "good Brits", following the laws, respecting and embracing our culture, making an input into society
Sadly, the behavour of many Muslims in our society and other immigrants has caused anger and resentment and when native British (English Welsh Scots etc) peopel speak out against this they are labelled "racists".

A patriot defends his country. If a patriot believes that immigration in such massive numbers is bad for his country, he opposes it. This does not necessarily make him a racist- he does not oppose immigration due to his feelings about people of different ethnic origins.

patriotism without compassion and understanding for other nations is racism! just check out american patroitism, most american patriots will blindly follow their country anywhere wihtout thinking ot the consequences.
As for the post before last, its ok to be Welsh, Scottish or Irish Partriot, its actively encourage, its frowned upon to be and English Patriot because people perceive it in the wrong way. They think to love England is to hate everyone who has backgrounds elsewhere. Surely they're the biggots to think that!

We have lost our patriotism but we can get it back.
Will the PC liberals in national and local government please allow the celebration of St Georges Day to give us a focus for our patriotism.
Being a patriot is not being racist.

Seems like a silly question to me. If you're a patriot, you love and will defend your country. If you only want to defend it against including people who don't look like you or share your religion, then you're a racist.

It certainly seems that a patriot is considered a racist.
