people don't vote best answer on their questions.
I think it's really ignorant and it seems like they will ask a question but not even bother to read them if they won't choose a best answer.
What are you opinions on this?

Thanks for your concern dickn2000 but I do have a life, and guess what, you are not having the 10 points you cheeky sod!!! :)

It bugs me when I put a lot of effort into the answer (Find a source etc.) and then it goes to a vote and the people with 3 word answers vote for their own.

What bugged me even more though was this morning when someone gave the best answer to their sister who said nothing while my answer was fantastic... (I was SURE I was getting 10 points for that one!!)

I check to see what I've answered that's "in voting" and if there are no answers better than mine I'll vote for mine, but if there ARE people who did a better job answering than I did then I honestly vote for theirs.

I've only let one of my questions go to a vote (accidentally because I was out of town when it ended.)

If you wanna play the game you should play by some kind of ethical rules.

It doesn't bother me that much because I think some of the questions asked on here are for humor and not to be taken seriously so I really don't think they are looking for the best answer they are just looking to see what other people would say.

I guess it depends...I normally pick a best answer, but the last question I asked was about whether anyone had tried a particular grill I was considering buying, and only 1 person answered, and his answer had really nothing to do with my question, so I didn't vote for a best answer.

If they did they would realize its worth 3 pts. Sometimes I just don't have time to get on the computer and it goes to a vote. I do read my answers everything is important to me and I value all the info given and the info I can give to help out a yahoo friend.

It depends on the question...

Sometimes there are too many answers and sometimes there are just stupid answers.

It just depends on the person.

The trick is to ask a question you actually can have a best answer for.

I mean, when you ask about someone's favorite something or whatever, it's like you're degrading the rest just because they didn't suit your standards.

I try to go back and vote on a best answer, but sometimes I have better things to do than sit at the computer.

Alot of questions are asked on "throwaway accounts" or the person stumbled on this site and doesn't know the rules. Then there are those who would just rather let their q's go to vote because all they want to do is ask.
I just look at it as one of those things that are gonna happen, and there isn't anything I can do about it.

Every question I've asked I've picked a best answer on. So I agree with you! And also, I do read every answer. I haven't gotten any with like 100 answers or anything!♥
