Is sending messages from one mobile to another the only way to recieve bluetooth messages?

i didn't really get it...you can send pictures,messages,names,videos,applications via bluetooth from one mobile to another,or from a computer to a mobile...you'll receive the files as messages..what do you mean by "the only way"??if you need more help contact me..good luck!
