When chatting, I tell my close female friend that I'm glad she had a good night out-also feel happy for her if she met a boy(possibly pulled). Sometimes I encourage her to make a move on a boy she mentions. Basically when I do this, she always explains herself to me i.e. I went straight home, I didn't go out or pull anyone, I don't fancy him etc....

Even though I'm usually joking around, not being serious (her business anyway).

WHY does she do this???

Advice appreciated

We have kissed once and thats when she decided we would remain friends, nothing more.

She says that I am attractive, its not my looks, nothing about my personality, she just could not give me a reason why we wouldn't get together.Everytime I suggest we stop meeting up, she tells me to stop being silly and to get that thought out of my head. Is it still wise to see her so often (I do still like her and she knows this,as I've told her)

Oh yeah-when I mention a girl that’s caught my attention, she DOES encourage me sometimes i.e. advice/tips BUT other times she just changes the subject.

WHY?? If she only wants to be friends???

1st I can tell U that girls like to talk. We seem to relieve some tension, anger, etc. by doing so. She obviously trusts U enough to tell all. U need to be there for her as a friend before U can be there as a boyfriend, & it seems like U really don't want to hear any of it. If U really like her U need to do so, & maybe if she see's that she will come around to wanting more then just friendship. If not then maybe U guys were just meant to be friends

Because she does not only want to be friends. She is making you jealous by telling you about the guy, but wants to keep you around which is why she explains it. She is using you a little bit. I have said it before, and I will once again state that she considers you a back-burner guy. She wants to keep you around and interested for now, but is playing the field to find someone she likes better. Put her to it, do not let her keep sucking you back in. Tell her that your feelings for her are not going to go away with the relationship the way it is, and you need some space to get things back into prespective. Then just move on and find yourself a girl who will appreciate you and what you have to offer. Good luck.

She is scared of the social stigma associated with promiscuity. Unfortunately, even in modern society, it is still frowned upon for women to "sleep around" whereas men are applauded for doing the same. Although you don't personally condemn this behaviour, and nor do many others, I think your female friend is being over cautious and setting the record straight so as to not be labelled by the narrow minded, hypocritical standards which society subjects upon us.

....in reference to your additional details:

She is probably trying to protect you: she knows your feelings for her, however does not reciprocate. She is a good enough friend to know not to rub your nose in what she may or may not have got up to with other blokes.

From all your previous questions you seem to have a very unhealthy obsession with this girl, I think its time you cut her out of your life and moved on...sorry, but I think shes holding you back...

Maybe she wants you to know that she isn't into one-night stands.

Or~ could it be she is wishing that you will ask her out?
