Exercise is a great way to rid yourself of depression. Riding a bike is great for it because it get your blood flowing, fresh air and great scenery.

I used to be depressed and then I started riding daily and I am fine now. Exercise releases natural endorphins that increase your sense of well being. Endorphins are a natural anti-depressant.

If you can't ride a bike, try brisk walking or jogging. Anything that raises your heart rate for 20 minutes a day or more.

The side effect is weight loss, increased stamina, decreased blood pressure, decreased cholesterol levels and better skin. How can you beat that!

There is also evidence that proves semen is a natural anti-depressant but I don't recommend this unless you are sure of your partner. The semen can be ingested orally or vaginally and still has the same effect.

I had depression yrs ago so bad I made an appointment out of town to see a psycholgist & get help. That was the greatest $500 I ever spent.

I was found out that my depression was caused by major changes in life & how to get thru without my intense anger, & without tears every waking moment of the day.
I wanted no medication & was given the option to get on anti depression meds or do it thru self help theraphy. Not ever being a slave to the drug store I wanted self help.
My daily program to follow was within my power already but I was too wrapped up in my emotions that I was allowing the emotions to rule.
Here was my instructions:
When you feel the dark sad demon overtaking you, immediately flip on all the lights in the room & lights in other rooms.Makes no diference if its day or night-get the lights on. If its daylight I now prefer to get my butt outside, the sunlight & daylight will change your thoughts & mood, but I have to be willing to stop thinking of the issue that started my depression. So I walk outside, I pull a few weeds or grab a rake, lawnmower & get my metabolism pumped up.
In wintertime & cold weather, I keep lights on most all day if skies are gray, & to really kick it up a notch, I grab the vacuum cleaner, the dust rag & glass cleaner & work it off. Makes no difference if I cleaned w/fine tooth comb the day before, my best theraphy is physical work in the house or in the yard. YOU MUST KEEP YOUR HANDS & BODY BUSY & MOVING.
Makes no difference which season it is,I have learned its about getting busy & staying busy to stomp out my depression.
Anyone can fight depression w/o a pill bottle if they're willing to see how simple it is.

Never give in to depression,it'll kill you & the ones that love you.

Being a long time sufferer of depresion the best advise I ever got was from a book a doctor recomended to me called Feeling Good. The advise was when you are down and really feeling bad, do something, anything. Go for a walk, do the laundry, anything! Just don't sit there and feel blue. Set your self certain tasks to be done then do them. Keep track of what you have done. It is not a cure for depression but boy it sure helps! The more you sit around and feel bad the worse you will feel.

Although, I am telling you to do this I dont apply it to my daily life. Take time for yourself. Get some ginseng and potassium or eat banannas often. Write down issues you face everyday, go somewhere to vent. The main key to resolving a problem is to recognize the problem or the source that is conflicting the problem and work on not allowing this to occur. Do research at the library (it is quiet and you don't have time to focus on self) Volenteer at some type of center that applies to a positive future to realize that many times others' problems are more crucial than yours. Pray and Comfort yourself as well as feel secure and it will work out fine. Good Luck! Do this every week for a month and write down your new response. Each time that you overcome one issue try to eliminate another one. Bless You.

1) Exercise boosts endorphines, making you feel happy
2) Natural light. Get sunlight every day when it's out, or get a natural light lamp for winter darkness.
3) Having a list of things you must accomplish each day/week/whatever. Lists help keep you moving along, and being busy combats depression.
4) Having goals for the same reason as #3.
5) Having friends and activities with friends and family to look forward to each week.

1) Try the herbal supplement St. John's root, it is supposed to help. 2) Exercise can help because the body will release endorphins which will make you feel better. 3) If you have a friend who is cheerful, talk to them, go out with them in a quite setting (not noisy) and just hang out and share some laughs. 4) Read a book that will bring enjoyment to you- something that is funny or inspirational. 5) Watch a funny movie but do not munch of junk food

Talk to a therapist. Depression is NOT something to mess around with. talk to a therapist and talk about options. For some medication is a great option. Don't go to your family physican. They give you a little multiple choice test that does nothing. You can get a referral from them, but do not get medicated from them.

Hope you find someone good and find the answers you need

Being aroun people helps alot. If you are around people you know and have fun, you forget alot of thngs.

Exercise is a good way to hit depression too. Whenever you feel down, do some exercise, go for a jog, kick a ball around, dance to your fav music.

If that all dont work, then talk to some one so close.... let it out

exercise.

I am a summer person and get depressed in winter.

I set up my actual mountain bike on a free cycle stand and bike in my living room.

I just spin while watching a moive. Its very helpful for me to burn energy like that everyday.

I also take one a day with energy vitamins. Its new on the market and has replaced my red bulls. Its good.
