basically i found a job i want but it's about $3.75 less an hour. but that's only for the first 6 months, after 6 months they do a review and give you a pay raise, then another at a year. i'd have to be extremely careful with my money but i could probably swing it.... so should i do it?

Like you said the pay cut is temporary. Also, many women are bad about "leaving money on the table" during employment negotiations. Most employers offer less than they have budgeted for a position, it might not be the 3.75 an hour but every little bit helps. You can also negotiate the review time, if you feel that you will have made a suffiently good impression in three months then ask for your review then. There are always exceptions to the rules and you can't get what you want if you don't ask for it.
Good luck with it.

If it's your dream job Go for it. I found my dream job just recently and landed it, I'll be working for a third of what i use to but its worth it in the longrun and you have to be happy at what you do. So go for the dream job eat more P&J for awhile and shop at Walmart instead of your favorite boutique for a while and you will be happier I swear!♥♥
