For the historic district, the Georgian style (named after the first three Georges of England) predominates. After the American Revolution. the Federal style and Greek revival styles took over. There are a few early Victorians antedating the Civil War.

i am not really versed in architectural styles, but rainbow row in charleston is really famous. it is a street of priceless homes, in all different colors ~ very beautiful, if you are planning a trip.
