only now and then a midget comes on the field and try to kick.also why do they all dress up like clowns? and last why there is no action for more than few seconds?

I would guess you didn't know that in America, when football was created, it was understood that the game of Soccer was also known as Calcio...and Futbol...and fusbol....football or "footy" is British...and they onlu call soccer football because they hate the French
So since, back then - using your feet was vital...
this sport cannot be played successfully without feet even today...
Football was an excellent choice.
The only clowns I ever see dressed up are those that spend 90 minutes failing to win a game so it goes into over time.
Not good offense.

Football evolved from Rugby which evolved from "Soccer". We just stuck with the name "Football" and renamed the original football "soccer" because no one cares about "soccer" in the U.S. and we knew it would piss off insecure Euros like you.
Football players do not dress like clowns, they dress like they're going into battle. Something a Frenchman wouldn't know anything about.
As for why the game stops, when American Football evolved from Rugby, strategy was made an important part of the game. It's like a chess game for the coaches. On every down, the offense is put in a formation and a play is called, the defense has to try to counter based on formation and player movement before the play starts. The changing of players and formations takes time, which is why play stops for thirty seconds between downs. Thats just the way it is, get over it, because honestly, we don't really give a sh!t whether you like it or not.

It's really pathetic when people take time to go out of their way and insult things on the internet. It's almost as bad that someone else who didn't like football responded (even a neutral statment is just cluttering the area designated for football discussion)

Why do you call soccer, soccer when you kick the ball and don't sock it? All you do is sock each other. Just kidding. It is called football becuase the ball is punted, it is kicked for extra points and field goals. They also kick off to start the game and the half and after one team scores.
