my personal favourite is a modification on the traditional "tom-an-jerry" spring loaded trap. Instead of releasing a trap the spring action pulls the triggers on two loaded BB Guns.. if you use a gas powered BB gun you won't need to reload or cock it and can get loads of the little bastads!

you can always go to a Lowes or Wal-Mart and get some. If you want to kill the thing then the best way is to use a classic trap which needs to be set again a wall. Don't use cheese, believe it or not, mice dont really like cheese, but they do love peanut butter.
If you are seeking a humane way to get rid of the critter (capture and release) You can get a live trap.

Go to any retail store, there are plenty. But please, make sure you select something that is HUMANE!!!!
