REMEMBER 1985!!!!!!

In 1985 the Mets fell just short of the playoffs, we picked up a missing piece or two and won it all the next year. On WFAN Omar was a guest of Mike and the Mad Dog, he said he thought the Mets would get to the NLCS within 3 to 4 years, they beat expectations and did it in 2. For a rebuilding franchise we came so close to the big dance, and without Pedro, Duanner Sanchez and Orlando Hernandez. Next year has already started for Omar and the front office, since mid-august he has been working on what to present to who in the free agent market.

We all know the who is Soriano and a pitcher or two, we Met fans know that we have a bright future, a lot brighter than many other teams. Our youth core, Reyes, Wright and Maine now have playoff experience. Pelfrey and Humber are two of the best pitching prospects in the game and we may have found a diamond in the rough with Oliver Perez, who now also has some big game playoff experience.

That's the thing about Met fans, we stick through the tough spots and are loyal fans. Today I am wearing my Mets hat proudly, as I would if we won it all or lost 100 games, it doesn't matter. We aren't fair weather fans, or front runners, we are Mets fans and damn proud of it. After all it's hard to like a team that isn't the big winner every year, it shows character.

Hold your head high, don't be depressed, we'll be back and we'll be better.

It wasn't depressin' but it was rather bittersweet. Oliver Perez and Endy Chavez were super brilliant. The same goes to Jeff Suppan and the other Cards players. I'd say, flip the page, do whatever that makes u feel good and look ahead to the next season. Life ain't over, buddy. The Mets have put up with lots of injuries and they've made it far. They've shown serious resillience, all season. Be proud!! :)

Your Mets are doing well my guy, however so are we. We simply swept the Fish and took two/three from the Phils and now we head as much as well Ol' Citi Field for the primary time. It will have to be a high-quality sequence, sure the primary pitching mathup goes to fantastic, however I am honestly extra excited approximately the moment. It's Jurrjens and Pelfrey, who're each sizzling pitchers proper now on 2 sizzling groups. This is the most important sequence for us up to now and I'm lovely certain for you as good, I can not wait. Good Luck, reason your gonna want it. Oh and uhh, GOBRAVOS!!!

It was an awesome game. Obviously, you are a Mets fan. Sorry your team didn't win, but the pitching they got from Maine and Perez was amazing considering how inexperienced they were and the pressure they were under. I don't think they would have gotten that good of a performance from Pedro or Orlando if they weren't hurt. They keep that staff together they will be a force next year. Oh, and what is this Fabio guy talking about positives when down the list he asked a very negative question about the World Series and not watching it. Get over yourself dude, and practice what you preach

As crushing as it can feel when your favorite team loses, you did get to watch a damn exciting Game 7.

And you can also enjoy the fact that despite losing two crucial pitchers when it mattered, your team showed a lot, giving the NL champion all they can handle.

Frustrating, yes. But there was a lot of good out there. Focus on the process (the games) and not the result and there was a lot to be positive about.

No need to buddy. I've been a die hard Mets fan for 22 years, I know how you feel this morning. It sucks, but its something to build on for next season. You dont win championships overnight, know what I mean? Look at the Tigers. 3 years ago they lost 119 games and are in the world series. Two years ago, our Mets finished dead last and we got this far having to rely on John Maine and Oliver Perez (who im both very excited about for next season) and didnt have Pedro Martinez or El Duque. So dont be too down and out buddy.

That was the best baseball game played in the last few years. Endy Chavez's catch and Perez's pitching are worth remembering. If Perez could continue to pitch like that for next season, the Mets are going to have a potential 20-game winner in Ollie Perez next season. As far as getting over the heartbreaker, dont worry about it. I've been a NY Jets fan for years, I'm used to it.

Bottom line "It's only a game" ! You have bigger priorities in life I'm sure. Move on to something which will be rewarding and long lasting. How long does a win or a loss result last? that's not what makes the world go around. We face disappointments every day of the year, how will you react when something really important lets you down? Move on !

Fred - if there was ever a time to say this, now is the time:

"Wait 'til next year." Your guys did great. It's just baseball, but every year brings a new opportunity.

Just remember what the Red Sox and White Sox fans used to say and what the Cubs still are. "Wait til next year"
