When you say the world do you mean the planet and nature?
Or the superimposed world of mankind/womankind?
The world of our creation with all its beliefs and superstitions is indeed and extension of all of us. We created it and we maintain it at all costs. It would therefore be futile to see it any other way.
If we merely identify with our superimposed world arn't we only half living? Unbalanced, neurotic?
The people in it are the same as you.
If you mean the world, as in the earth and nature, then if that is an extension of you also, then, how you view that and how you view yourself will define how you then view others.
Do you also view your body as an extension of your mind? Just a thought!

If the world is an extension of you, the opposite can also be true: you are an extension of source... and so is everything in the world... including people.
View others as mirrors of yourself... Look to them to learn more about yourself.
Remember you will only draw that to you from which you have something to learn. Do not turn away from the mirror.
Recognize the world in each person you see.

Interaction with other people should show that the world is NOT an extension to your mind and body.

Perhaps you need to perceive your body and mind as an extension of the world instead, kind of turn it on its head.
Kinda like the sun. burning away in peptuity, with all the plasma, electrons atoms all buzz about. Sometimes I see it as a big machina each of us a cog in the time piece of existence, some cogs jam, lock, fall off, some multiply anothers work, some divide it!!

I find it works well to think of them as component members of that body and mind. Each person is an aspect of the whole with different viewpoints and influences to bring to the gathering that can in turn serve to expand the whole through discussion and mutual co-operation.

The people in the world are going to be a reflection of that persona that you radiate. If, in your day to day activities, you treat people fairly, demonstrate superior morals and ethics, then you will find that the majority of the people you encounter will treat you the same way.
Conversely, if your attitude is one of materialistic belligerence, then interestingly you will find others of similar characteristic around you

it is really a nice idea,
but look, if you look at the world as a big dynamic unit and ourselves as part of it, then you don't have to worry about the others, as they will be necessarily part of the world, and they will have an equal value to the world as you are

Just extras in your movie? Or minor characters if you give us a few lines...
We are all the stars in our own movies. & our world revolves around each of us.
Seriously though, we are all connected. Think of us as your brothers & sisters & the world as our home...
