With the baby due in December...i'm sure we won't have enough money to spend on a big wedding. Right now I was just thinking about having it done in the court.....anyone have this done. What do I need to do in order to have this done? Is there a website I can check out?

We had planned on getting married already.....we were engaged before i got pregnant.....so we are not getting married just because of the baby. I have been with him for 5 years!

Go to the county court clerks office. They will give you all the info.

OK together 5 years and engaged - these would've been good things to mention before everyone answered. I would still consider waiting until after the birth of the baby to get married and have a nice wedding. You've waited this long, what's a few more years?

I had it done. Some courthouses have a little gazebo set up for those services. Others, just perform the ceremony in an office type setting....although, you can dress up for it. You would need to contact the Clerk Of The Family Courts and ask them....or go there and they will give you info on it. There should not be any additional charge either.

Just check your county website, or the county court and ask. Here in GA, all you have to do is for both of you to show up and there's a judge there who will swear u in that day. It takes less than 30 mins overall for allt hat to happen. And have at least 1 witness. if not, a court clerk would stand in as a witness.

You can contact the county clerk about marriage licenses and ask them about the cost of the marriage for the justice of the peace. I did this 24 3/4 years ago and it was $20.00. Good Luck!
