The answer is easy: When you're in the closet, and afraid of letting people in on your secret, the only people who can have sex with are those over whom you have power.

If every gay person would just come out, we would pretty much end these ridiculous scandals.

Very good. You are right. Every gay person should come out. In some places it can be dangerous though. Fix our homophobic society and this problem is fixed!

I agree with you. I used to be a manager at a very large corporation. The first thing I was told by the man who had promoted me was " don't ever let anyone have any thing on you that might be damaging to your job or personal life. If you do then that person will have complete control over you and you will be at their mercy." It is a piece of advice that I have carried with me every since. That is the big mistake that these closet gays are making over and over. They don't want anyone to know they are gay but they keep having relationships with people and then when the relationship is over, the person they were involved with tell the world who they had the relationship with and it makes big news. Where as if the world already knew the person was gay, then everyone would say, "so what"?

that is untrue! There are plenty of scandalous affairs with gays just like heterosexual. It is the nature of the beast! The closet doesn't give one any more power. The illicit sexual affair is what gives the power. The driving unbridled, undisciplined and uncontrolled sexual reactions is the problem.

That's because of the hunter instinct on the part of the media and those who like juicy stories. If every deer, fox, or other object of a hunter's pursuit were to surrender itself to its hunters, there wouldn't be any thrill or sport in hunting. It's the same on the part of those who are looking to see who's gay and who isn't.
