It really ticks me off the amount of people that answer with "Go to the doctor right away!". Really people... there is no need to panic or for you to instill panic in a pregnant woman!
To answer the question... there is a test you can do... Aim for 10 movements in an hour. Lay down in a quiet room have a glass of juice or something with sugar in it. relax and take deep cleansing breaths.... put your hands on your belly and count how many movements you have... if it is 10 movements in 20minutes or even 10 movements in an hour... then everything is fine!
Baby's do sleep alot... and we all go throught the point where we worry about movement... sometimes it's hard to feel when we ae distracted.
Please don't go rushing to the Doc's because you only felt the baby a few times... do the test and if you are comfortable with the results then decide if you still want to see the doc
Keep in mind that if you did go to the doc they would ultimately give you an ultra sound... and every ultrasound you get raises your risks of Autism!

As long as you are feeling movement then it is fine.
Try this......drink a very cold glass of ice water, or orange juice, and then lie down. You should feel movement within a 1/2 hr after doing so, as it will wake up the baby a bit. At 24 weeks, the baby is moving into all sorts of positions, and it may be in a position tht you can't feel it as much, maybe it is facing inwards, and kicking towards your spine, which you wouldn't feel at this stage much. Try not too worry, but I know how you feel. I felt the same way at the same time as you in my pregnancy, and I did call the doctors, they told me the same as I just told you, and it was fine. If you feel NO movement at all for 12 hrs, then I would go and get checked out, or call. Hope this helps you. COngrats little moma!!!!!

I wouldn't worry TOO much. At 24 weeks, your baby is growing and it's getting a little cramped in there. Just like us, your baby has days when he feels more active than other days. If he hasn't moved for what you feel is too long of a period of time, call your doctor. That's what they're there for. Good luck :)

Well, maybe you just have a lazy baby in there...some babies are nos as active as others, as long as you feel your baby move it's ok. If your baby doesn't move at all then you should be concerned. Maybe he/she is kicking in and you don't feel the movements. But I understand. I do have a very active girl inside, and I have felt her a lot since week 22. Maybe yours will start getting more active now. If you want just call the dr for some reassurance, but i'm sure everything is fine.

When my daughter was going through this in her pregnancy, she called the nurse to ask about it... they told her to drink orange juice or ice cold water... then count the times that the baby moves in an hour.... if it's not too many times get in to the dr. but if the baby is very responsive, it is doing fine. The sugar in the juice will make the baby hyper... the cold water will do the same!
Her baby moved like 56 times in that hour! Wild child... she's now a busy active little 7 month old who is crawling already!

I didnt feel much movement at all with my pregnancy due to my baby being in a breech position. But I would still call the Doc just to be on the safe side and to have peace of mind, just to have check up and to hear that great lil heart beat. Try not to worry the less stress and worring is best for your body. Congratulations!!

If the baby doesn't move the rest of the day - I would call your doctor just to be safe. I'm 30 weeks pregnant - and I just make mental notes the time of day my baby moves - it's pretty regular. Your baby could also just be sleeping or tired from the previous day.

I don't think there is need to be worrying since some time the baby is just lazy, but just for peace of mind have a visit to the doctor, you never know if there is some thing wrong until you have a check up. Better sooner than later. You know a preventation is always better than a cure.

i really wouldn't be concerned too much, baby has many more weeks to go before you feel you have an octopus in your tummy! The baby will start moving more and more and when he/she gets too cramped, so enjoy this "quiet" time, cause your little acrobat will be doing alot of exercises in the weeks to come!
