it pretty much depends on ur personality and the people at the HS. If the people there are pretty cool, then they probably wouldn't care if u were a nerd or not. But if they aren't like that then even if u r considered a nerd, at least u would have sum friends who didn't care if u were nerdy or not. And bsides, i would sugest to get the college credits.

Well...first of all if you want college credits you dont go to IB...IB is only university credits.
Second...if you do get into IB you will not have any problems at all because the people are actually there to learn and not fool around.
If you are called a nerd that is either a joke or the person is just jealous of your grades...
Being familiar with teachers is very important especially if youre not good in the subject because they will be most willing to help you...
Just as an answer to all of the answerers (or some) you absolutely dont have to be dressed "in fashion" or be "cooler" than anyone else. I personally have my own style and no one has problems with me...another thing is that Im math genius and people can't live without my help so I could say Im pretty respected...so you shouldn't be caring bout stuff like that.

P.S. If youre considering Weston CI for the IB program for ur school tell me :) Im currently enrolled there...

If you are a nice person and fun it shouldn't matter how smart you are as long as you know how to have a laugh just be yourself I'm sure you'll be fine high school is alot different from primary and then life is alot different from high school . from my experience most of the popular kids find that high school was the best times of there life which is sad I enjoyed high school was not unpopular but didn't really hang with the in crowd all the time, and I have had so much fun since leaving traveling a great career and now a wonderful husband..... being popular in high school means nothing in the grand scheme of things be yourself and continue being a good student and you will go far.

It probably depends on the group of people that are in your graduating class. Most of the popular people in my graduating class were very smart. The school even had to double the number of advanced classes they offered because so many people signed up for them. Also, new people were almost always taken in by the popular crowd. Good luck! and just be you...high school doesn't last forever...even if you are a nerd. Once you get out and into college there will be so many people that it doesn't matter what group you were in when you were in high school.

If you are who cares. Nerds are good. I thought the same way back in school that being called a nerd was a bad thing. Its not. If you are smart you are lucky and prepared for a good future. THe ones that call you a nerd are jealous and only wish they could be making those good grades. So be proud of what you can do.

Sweetie, don't worry if someone calls you a nerd. Doing well in school is what is going to get you far in life. Don't NOT do well in your classes to keep from being called a nerd, but at same point don't be one of those that is always trying to do everything. let others have a chance too. don't be the first to answer the question and don't answer every question every time.

Good luck to you.

Who cares?!? The ners are the best okay? Like totally who will get the better job? Who will have a better university application? Ask yourself a few questions.

But you can be both. Join the clubs and become well known for good things and just stay smart.

If they call you a nerd it's a source of bullying so you have right to get them in trouble.

Have fun and keep smiling!

Ya know...I just graduated high in 2005....High school can be a rough place...You have to dress in the good expensive "mall" clothes... play sports blah blah blah. At my high school which was a huge school, the "smart" people were popular also. You can be smart and still have friends. No one really wants to be around a weed smoker high school drop out. Believe me...after you graduate high school, nothing matters about school... How popular you were wont matter in 10 years! But i know how hard it can be and how mean kids can be, so join a sport like softball or cheerleading, go to the mall and get your clothes.... and for goodness sake, dont sit at the lunch table with your friends and talk about pokemon or trading cards.... those are the nerds! lol... Good luck...dont worry about it.

seriously.. who cares what you'll be called?

i mean it sounds like you're on the right track looking toward your future and doing and being what you really want to be. you'll have your best friend there and to be totally honest with you i can count on one hand how many of my friends from highschool i'm still friends with today... most people I never even saw again after graduation!

do what you really want and what you know is right with your life and if someone calls you a nerd.. well then remember that at your 10 year reunion when you're making the big bucks while they're sipping bear on their sofa hopping they stay qualified for food stamps all year.

you'll do just fine!! don't worry, you and your best friend do what you know is right and make these next few years the best time of your life!!

Haha. I don't think so, I'm in high school right now and taking all Magnet courses (it's like a level below AP), but I'm not called a nerd, except when ppl are just joking around. In fact, everyone @ my school is a "nerd".
