In Burdekin Dam Lake, northernQueensland, it was the egg. When the dam was finally constructed some students from a Queensland Uni surreptitiosly put a clutch of croc eggs into the deepening R.Burdekin above the damwater and the newly sumberged trees environment provided excellent breeding habitat for the crocs to thrive. The plan originally was for the new dam to be a centre for watersports of all kinds: ski-ing, swimming, sailing etc., in safe croc-free water. What a hope. Stupid pranksters - "crockpots" - ruined the dam forever. Yes, it was the egg.
