get a whistle and when they call blow it long and loud

Get a whistle and use it when they call the next time and every time until it quits.

Call the phone company and file a complaint report so that your problems are documented.

Call the police and file a report. They can trace the call even if the phone company won't.

If the prank calls continue, take a call and begin speaking even if you think they aren't there. Tell the caller that you've made a report to the phone company and to the police. That the calls are being recorded and that you will file charges against them on the next call. Even if none of those things have been done, at least you will be warning them.

Have your number placed as unlisted or change your number.'

Hi .. With the Phone Prank well thats a good one.

Talk to them for a little bit just nonsense stuff and keep them on the line for at least a few moments, after which you can advise them ......... THE Police tap is now complete. Please be advised that you have now been located and your number has been processed into the Police computers. YOU have now been identified. PREDATORS BEWARE

Having a Police tap on your phone is something that the police do from time to time. especially with situations like this
You may wish at the same time to contact the police to have this further investigated.

Another thought might be to have a whistle close by the phone when you are certain it is the pranksters blow the whistle really hard that might help . Just a few thoughts but I don't know if they are solid enough to work
Good luck

I had the same thing happening to me only I knew who was doing it. He was an ex-son-in-law and he was calling from a cell phone. Every time he called he was some place different and he would call every 15 minutes all night long. I called Verizon and they told me to call the police and get a report number. So I did and then with the report number, Verizon was able to change my phone number without charging me for it. I also opted to have it unlisted and unpublished so he can never get it again.

You know something you could try? Call the number during the dinner hour and ask to speak to the parents. Tell them what is happening and ask that they put a stop to it. Tell them if it isn't stopped that you are going to be forced to file a police report.

I have custody of his son who is turning 3 years ol;d today and he hasn't been able to call and check on him since he was 6 months old. He tried to file a complaint against me but with the police report and the report from Verizon (they had a record of all the calls he had made here all night), he was unsuccessful and the courts said I didn't have to give him my phone number. So because of his own antics, he has no contact with his child because he lives in another state.

Call the cops (the local number, not 911). Explain the situation. Within minutes, they will be able identify who is doing it and take a quick trip over to their house. Although they won't arrest them or anything, can you just imagine what their parents will do when the cops show up at their door and ask them not to let their kids prank call people at midnight? I know what I would do and it involves a lengthy period of time using the belt.

I had that once for about a week and eventually we got broken into. It was jerks 'casing the joint' I think cos it stopped after that. Just checking when we were home. Call their bluff if you are sure it is just kids and say that you have them on call track and that the police should be contacting them within the next few days. Otherwise...just take the phone off the hook when you go to bed.

If they stay on the phone for a little bit, you can do what my Mom (she's in her 80's) did. She waited for an answer after her "hello". When the phone stayed silent or it was obvious that she didn't know the person on the other end, she put her whistle in mouth and blew hard. Whoever it was, they did not call back. Good luck - crank calls are a nuisance.

Right after they call you, dial *69. Depending on where you live, you'll either get the last number that called you or if it's blocked, they offer to dial the last number that called you back! It costs 75 cents, but it's so worth it. Do it and when they pick up, say something that will freighten them like: "Do you realize who you've called? I've had your number traced and I know where you live. If you call again, expect the FBI outside your door within 20 minutes."
Chances are they're just kids and will never call you again.

We changed our phone number because of prank calling. Sweet silence ensued. The phone company won't help. You have to take evasive measures yourself.

Personally I would route my phone line through a digital cryptic converter and run a trace route to the series of towers within a 150 mile radius. That would enable you to not only gather their telephone number but address of the location from where they are calling.

Now if they are calling from a cell phone, you will not receive the address but at least you could track it using digital global hex IP address management console. You would need Linux software first to enable the compression to the digital converter.

If you need help setting it up, let me know..

P.S: Would cost you about $650.00 for the hardware-

They've got logs of the calls (how do you think they know who to bill?). They can easily find out who it is. You need to talk to the right person at the phone company.

They might take you more seriously if you file a police report.
