I have a girlfriend that was given a black rose ,but only cause she thought they were hot.it was a fake plastic black rose though.she liked them so Im not sure either. It could mean death, who knows

l've never heard of a black rose and never seen one. lt's probably not real, perhaps made of plastic or fabric.
lt's not pretty and might offend the person you intend to give it to. Why would anyone want to choose that color when other pretty colors are available. lt would scare the recipient.

The black rose is real they are real plants and they never die, look it up, it signifies eternity. So depending on what you wish for them depends on what you are telling them with the black rose.

erm do black roses exist? never seen one myself. probably means, darkness, death, sadism, soul-less- either way, never give one.
On a more serious note, perhaps they are requested at funerals.
