I have noticed lots of spiders live in car mirrors. Can anyone explain why.

I love them!!!! I hate if the car goes too fast incase the they get blown off. You can just imagine them hanging on for dear life with their tongues flapping about in the wind like dogs do when they hang their heads out the window. I know I sound weird but I love the common house spider and the Car Spider. Don't flick them off or try to skoosh them out with some kind of spray. They feel safe in your mirror so please let them stay that way. Happy spider watching!!

Mirrors have a handy sized surface area to spin your web in.
Not to big and not too small - perfect for catching those pesky flies!!

I think its because spiders like liveing in dark moist places and car mirrors are dark and often damp because of the dew.

I think they live behind the mirrow because is always nice temperature no matter what weather is outside, I can tell you of one that lives in the mirrow of my car and no mater if sun shines or rains, it's persistent and keeps coming back.

Free travel. Normally they'd catch the bus but they can't carry their passes, they don't have any pockets in their trousers!

No but I hate them!!!!!! They create the biggest webs ever and even when I drive for ages it doesn't "blow the cobwebs off"!
