I kept thinking of Grady Little leaving Pedro in there in 2003 against the Yanks. But that was Pedro. This was Oliver Perez. I think Endy Chavez saved Randolph's job. WHAT A CATCH!

He got lucky with that catch. However, his moves, or lack of them, in the ninth inning were really bad. Also, he should never have left Valentin in to hit with the bases loaded and one out earlier in the game. I am a little tired of people making excuses by saying he "stuck" with a partcular player. Reminds me of Mitch Williams in that series the Phils played against Toronto.

I think his job is very secure after the team won 97 games without 2 of their biggest contributers from last season (Pedro, Cliff Floyd). They both had lost seasons.

As for Iffy, whats with the hatred towards New York? It's all America hombre

I don't think Randolph would have lost his job. He took the Mets a long way this year. Even though I am a Cardinal fan, and WE WON, my hat is off to Willie Randolph for the great job he did this year with the Mets. Had their two ace pitchers and Floyd been healthy, it would had been a different story.

Nope. I don't see why his job would be in jeopardy. He's done a hell of a job bringing the Mets to where they were this season.
