Obviously I want it to be a surprise and I don't mind exchanging it later for one that fits perfectly, but I'd like to be close enough that it will more or less fit! HELP!!!!

Ha, ha, ha!!!! I'm not laughing at you, but I am laughing as this is a problem all guys struggle with seemingly. I got engaged three weeks ago, but luckily I knew about it and cou;d inform y fiance of what size the ring should be. I think the best way to know without her knowing is to see which of you fingers is closest to the size of her finger and work according to that. Also, rather get a ring that is a bit smaller than a ring that is too big as if you have to make a ring smaller, they have to cut it to adjust it.

Good luck!!!

How To Guess Ring Size

Well, you wouldn't have to exchange it...rings can be resized from the jeweler where you purchased it. Does she have other rings you could sneak away to take to a jeweler? Some department store circulars actually have size charts that you could set another ring on to get the exact size. Ask a jeweler if body type would determine the closest ring size (A slender figure would probably be sizes 5-7, while a more full-figure may be an 8-10.), and like I said...rings CAN be resized, in any case she will be thrilled!

Generally, ring sizes are like 1 or 1-1/2 sizes smaller than their shoe size. That would at least get you close. Congrats!

Interestingly enough, hat sizes are the same as ring sizes. If she has any hats, you could sneak a look at one. Good luck.

awww congratulations!
look for a friend that is the same height and build that she is (make sure it's a girl). BOTH are very important! then measure HER fingers for size. Good luck!

The ring size is always the same as the shoe size. (In normal people).

You steal one of her rings

you need to get to hold her hand... caress it in a playful manner... and use the chance to compare your own fingers to her ringfinger... then you can find a ring that fits that finger of yours that is closest in size to her ringfinger.
