Hi Olicat
Here is the true definition of headaches and remedies to help you cure your issue. Some testimonials at the bottom.
Cause
This is often the result of a disturbance in some other part of the body, such as digestive disorders in the stomach, liver or bowel; problems in the abdominal area; menstrual irregularities, impingements in the cervical; concussion, eye strain, nervous excitement, fatigue, etc. The headache is a mechanism which signals some serious problem elsewhere. The common headache is due to faulty elimination, and the waste matter causes problems until the toxic wastes reach the stomach nerves and affects them. Sometimes headaches are caused from panic, fear, or worrying about the unknown. Headaches of this type are the hardest to relieve, generally requiring something strong like a heavy nervine tea with lobelia in it to diminish the nervous excitement. A nerve tea such as valerian or skullcap with a few drops of tincture of lobelia to a cup will give relief.
Food allergies are another very common cause of headache. The worst culprit is sugar; I have experienced sugar headaches, which are sort of a withdrawal; you eat the sugar, and then as the body is trying to eliminate the toxic substance, your head pounds. Cheese commonly causes headaches, probably the worst of the dairy products for this, although allergies to any of them may cause the pain. Meats and eggs are also common allergens.
Herbal Aids
1.General Instructions: Improve elimination with the Lower Bowel Formula #1 (use the cathartics and enemas only in case of emergency). If the problem is in the stomach area, use any of the following stomach herbs: angelica, balmony, black alder, elecampane, gentian root, raspberry leaves, rhubarb, strawberry leaves, wild cherry, wormwood. Use ginger for a menstrual problem. To relieve the local headache pain, two or three drops of tincture of lobelia in a little water three times a day or up to every hour if required will often give temporary relief. If the contents of the stomach causes the problem, empty that area with an emetic. Where the nerves are raw, the following herbs are excellent: catnip, peppermint (hot), rosemary herb, skullcap, spearmint, wood betony, and since plenty of rest is needed, any of the foregoing herbs along with hops tea is very soothing and will produce sleep.
2.Migraine Headache: See formula using wormwood, Culver's root and cayenne.
3.Relaxing Nervine (headache, neck, shoulder and muscular tension, irritability, nervousness or raw nerves, sleeplessness, female organs)
4.Nervous Headache: Chew 1-2 freshly-picked leaves of rue.
5.Headache: Apply the freshly-bruised leaves of rue to the temples.
6.Nervous Headache: See formula using lady's slipper, catnip and scullcap.
7.Nervous Headache: See formula using wood betony, rosemary and peppermint.
8.Insomnia, Headache, Indigestion, Bronchitis, etc. Give black cohosh infusion in small doses.
9.Peppermint Tea: Drink a cupful of hot peppermint tea; then lie down and relax.
Oil of Peppermint: Apply externally on the affected area for rheumatism, neuralgia, and headache.
10.Stress Headache: My favorite headache/stress remedy is blending a banana into a cup of pineapple juice, adding a bit of nutmilk, and mixing in one to two tablespoons of brewer's yeast, blending briefly. In fifteen minutes I am calm and ready to deal with the problems that cause the stress.
11.Constipation Headache: Headaches can stem from several sources. Very common is the constipation headache, where compressed fecal matter presses on the nerves that affect the head. We have seen severe migraine headaches cured by taking a catnip enema. For longer-term relief, the lower bowel formula can heal the bowel so that there is no constipation.
12.Severe Migraine: For a really severe migraine headache, apply cold packs to the neck and head while the patient soaks in a very hot tub or whirlpool. Be sure to drink lots of feverfew tea and water, take copious amounts of Dr. Christopher's Calc Tea and try to enjoy the bath.
13.Dehydration Headache: Sometimes people get headaches because they are dehydrated. You would be surprised that most people walk around in a state of dehydration. You need about a gallon of steam-distilled water each day in order to stay completely hydrated.
14.Rosemary: Another method to relieve headache is, as soon as the headache begins, a small bottle of spirits of Rosemary is held to the nose and the fumes are inhaled. In addition, a few drops of the preparation are rubbed gently but thoroughly on the temples, on the forehead, on the veins of the neck and behind the ears. This reputedly gives prompt relief.
15.Juices for a Sick Headache: Celery, celery & apple.
16.Cabbage Leaves: Apply cabbage leaves to the forehead and nape of the neck and leave on overnight. Applications of the leaves over the liver may also be necessary.
Testimonials
1.Cayenne Ointment: (Red Sun Balm) My husband gets severe migraines occasionally, presumably because he does high-stress academic work. These headaches can keep him sitting up all night because they hurt too much for him to lie down. Once when he was suffering from one of these I thoroughly rubbed his back with Professor Cayenne's Ointment, rubbing out the tense places as much as I could. Soon he was asleep and slept all night.
2.Kelp: A man reported to Dr. Powell with much indigestion with bilious turns. Almost every morning for some months he had risen from bed in the morning with a sick headache. For a time he had taken purgatives, salts and aspirins, which, although giving relief, failed to heal the man; indeed, these things had made him worse. The doctor asked the man to fast and then put him on a cleansing diet. He got somewhat better, though not completely. Eventually he began to take Kelp and cell salts at every meal, and after some weeks his troubles left him. In this case, the doctor noted, Kelp not only acted on the liver, but also on the toxic colon, the gall bladder, kidneys, and meninges. The latter are usually involved when the headaches are severe.
Best of health to you.
Cheers

A migraine is often NOT an actual migraine. I thought I suffered twice a month from migraines for TEN years. I have tried 6 kinds of pills for migraines from my doctor. Nothing really worked.
Then, with the help of a chiropractor and a massage therapist, I found they were tension headaches caused by Trigger Points.
You might know Trigger Points as what most people call 'knots' in their muscles. Try pressing gently on all areas on the front of your neck, from the bottom of your ear to your collar bone, and all around the area in between. If you find an extremely sensitive area ( you WILL know if you find it, I have many), then gently press and release it 6-12 times, upto a pain level of about 7 if you can stand it.
This is massaging the scalene muscles and sternocleidomastoid muscles which send referred pain certain parts of the head, which can feel like what most people call a migraine headache. Depending on exactly where in your head the pain is, you can also massage the trapezius muscles and the suboccipital muscles located right below the base of the skull
Sound like hocus pocus? Well, this is in the alternative health section, and I wouldn't have bothered writing all this if it doesn't work, and if you REALLY want to rid yourself of this pain, I strongly suggest you purchase "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook" by Clair Davies. Look it up on Amazon (direct link below for you), I got a perfect 2nd hand copy for $12. I have already given this book to 4 friends.

A friend of mine suffered terribly with migraine. She started using a product called Genesis for something else and after a while she noticed that her migraine pains were getting less severe, she continued using the product and now her pains are almost gone. You can read about it here: http://www.symmetrydirect.com/zjohnson

my sister takes tramadol (not sure of spelling) and it don't help much but it helps to make her able to function with out nausea. and the doctors put my niece on blood pressure pills for her migraines. i haven't suffered since they regulated my heart disease. you need to find what is triggering the migraines or nothing will work. also the furnace is running now so you may want to invest in a detector for carbon monoxide poisons. there are alot of reasons that trigger migraines, even some foods. you may want to seek help from a migraine specialist.

Migraines & Progesterone
By Dr. John Lee, MD
Www.johnleemd.com
Migraines are serious headaches, most often occurring only on one side of the head, which are often preceded by a vague sense (aura) that the sufferer learns to recognize as an impending headache. Migraines are thought to be related to over dilation of blood vessels in the brain. They very likely have an allergic or chemically mediated trigger and are related to stress. They vary in severity, sometimes becoming almost
unendurable without narcotic medication, and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Routine treatment involves ergotamine medication (often combined with caffeine), which, to achieve success, may result in side effects of muscle pains, numbness and tingling in the fingers and toes, rapid (or slowed) heart rate, and nausea and vomiting. Migraine victims live in fear of their next headache.
When migraine headaches occur with regularity in women only at premenstrual times, they are most likely due to estrogen dominance. These are the lucky patients.
Estrogen causes dilation of blood vessels, and thus contributes to the cause(s) of migraines. One of the many virtues of natural progesterone is that it helps restore
normal vascular tone, counteracting the blood vessel dilation that causes the headache. Here again, progesterone is safe and treats the cause in a normal, physiologic way. The more dangerous pharmaceutical drugs can be reserved for the rare case that does not respond completely to progesterone.
Dosing With Progesterone In Treating Migraines
If you have migraines, try using progesterone during the ten days before your period. Be alert to the aura that usually precedes these headaches. If one occurs, you can apply a chocolate chip size dose every three to four hours until your symptoms subside. (Usually this happens in one or two applications.) Apply the cream directly to the temples and your neck.

It's also very important to read Dr. John Lee's books, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause and is most recent book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer. These three books are must reads for any woman who refuses to pump synthetic hormones into her precious body.

My Dad used to get frequent migraines. He tried several medicines including Immitrex, but nothing worked. A friend of his with the same problem suggested accupuncture. It seemed to work because he very rarely gets a migraine now. You might want to check out accupuncture.

Try taking your meds with a very strong cup of coffee. Caffeine boosts the pain relieving powers of most pain medications.
Stay away from things that seem to aggravate your migraines. Bright lights, noise, dairy products, wine... If there is something that you have been under stress about, resolve it.

Wow, your me a year ago. Let me ask you, do you use cleaners in your home? Candles, pesticides, bleach, laundry detergent? A lot of chemicals are put into these. You might be cleaning your bathroom with Clorox and then lighting a candle to keep the house smelling like flowers. What people don't realize is that you are admitting toxic chemicals into the air with all the cleaners you use, every time you use them. I know a web site that provides door step delivery of alternative cleaners and medicine that is all organically derived. No more headaches for me.
