Well that's one very unhappy Lost fan here, since I cannot afford Sky (same thing happened to 24 didn't it?)
I hate Sky anyway, they charge a fortune and then have the cheek to put LOUD and LONG advert breaks on every five minutes, total rip-off, makes the BBC look like an absolute bargain.

I really don't understand this outbidding stuff - Sky are not a terrestrial network so why can't one of the five normal UK channels have it as well? That whole thing just stinks and is grossly unfair.

I don't think sky can stop C/4 from showing Lost. There are 2 different licences for showing programs on television, terrestrial TV and satellite TV. Sky began a couple of years ago showing E.R a month or so ahead of C4 as they had the satelite licence to show E.R and C4 had the Terrestrial t.v licence. Then C4 started their E4 channel on satellite and they started to out bid sky for a lot of programs E.R included.
If Sky have out bid C/4 it will only mean that E4 will not be able to show Lost and that Sky will probably show their episodes before C/4.

I don't think it's the worst thing to happen.
Yes there will be loads of ads but there was anyway on Channel 4. Sky will also start airing the new series in November rather than the rubbish 8 months we were likely to have to wait for Channel 4.
I have heard that they have also promised to air it on freeview channel Sky Three so if you go and get yourself a digibox you can watch it too without having to subscribe to Sky or NTL!
PS you cannot watch the episodes via abc.com unless you are a US resident. (ie your ISP server is in the US)

I agree, Sky is expensive and the programs are peppered with adverts - I have Sky (and watch 24!!) so I'll record it for you if you like and send them on to you :-)

Lost is a stupid show to begin with. If those idiots we're REALLY lost, then that would make for good television.
That show got way to complicated and the writers are taking the show in the wrong direction.
