It is the oxygen in the air that dries the glue. Between the inside of the bottle and the glue there is no oxygen. that is also why glue hardens when the bottle is left open.

Air is what makes the glue dry. If the bottle that the glueis in isn't open long enough then the glue will not stick. The thicker the glue is the longer it takes to dry. so it being in a bottle the only part of the glue that will get air will be the top and the glue will not be in the air long enough to stick. But I will tell you Monkey glue dries fast. The minute you open it you want to close it just as fast. This glue hardens up even if just the top hits air.

Because the thinner in the glue has to evaporate in order for the glue to set. If it is in a sealed container this cannot happen. That's why tube of glue can get bunged up at the nozzle but still have fluid inside.

because glue is sticky when the chemicals inside it react to oxygen, thats y it dosent stick to the inside of the bottle and thats y if u dont close the top the glue in the top of the bottle gets hard

Because its the reaction it has with air (outside the bottle) that makes it go hard ;)
the liquid in glue evaporates in room temperature and you are left with the hard stuff, but not enough air in the bottle to dry it straight away but eventually does dry out, thats why if you blow on glue it drys quicker ;) take tippex for instance, it drys out, you add the liquid thinner and its back again ;)

Because there is not enough air in the container to make it stick/get tacky. You might get a "skin" of glue on the top part of the glue, but that is it.

most glue requires a reaction with air, thats why when you leave the lid off the bit at the top goes hard but if you dig it out the bottom bit is still usable. hope this helps X
