I'm not crazy about first person POV narration. I prefer omniscient style so you get the story from a variety of perspectives. No preference on male/female if the story is well-written and engaging.

Sadly, I have not read many, if any, books written by female authors of the fantasy fiction genre. This being my favorite genre, I would have to go with the male POV, as male writers are more accurate in their representation of their own gender.

Male, because I am one, and I can generally relate better to the character. I have been able to relate to female characters as well in some books, but very rarely, and I cannot enjoy a book unless I can relate to at least the main characters.
