It is still not clear to me how someone can make a statement that has validity. In a question about the purpouse of pornography, a female participant said it was there to degrade and abuse women. How is it abuse or degrading when these females in the pornography industry do it by choice not by force. If by force, it would not be pornography but rape, that is not the case, so where does he answer of abusing and degrading women come from.

Because some poor women do it to make a living by their bodies.
Cyco's see it and get stimulated and do go out and rape someone who had nothing to do with the pornography.
It is a classic case of abuse of women.
Women as babies has been burried alive, drowned, because parents wanted a son. Thrown into volcano's or given to old men for money. Sold to the higest bidder. Or just aborted before they were even born. Had no say so over who they married and lived in a enviroment with multiple wives like as if they only purpose was to please some abusive male.
Women have been beaten, cheated on and murdered by the ones they thought loved them, their husbands.
I also believe that beauty pagents are another classic example of the explotation of women. I hope in the future they get a way to choose the sex of their children and to please the father have all sons. See how much fun in China they are going to have without any women. I would love it if men did finally get rid of all the women and had to live with another man. Divine justice.

I don't agree that it is abusing women because as you stated it is "usually" by choice, The choice though can have many reason, for example possibly slave marketing of women, underage runaways who are caught up in an industry they cannot escape from , women who are dominated by pimps or other dredges of society.
The degradation of women is that is portrays women as tools , or toys of a male oriented society where sex is a domineering weapon , how many porns have you seen where the women actually does a good job of acting like she enjoys what is being done to her/ I admit there are those that do , yes but in real life women are not compliant to several partners at once and performing long stretches of ...well you know. After men or women watch these their own sex life pales in comparison thus making many people feel self concsious and under par in the sack.
My last point is that the pornography business is a stepping stone for illegal activity , and child pornography and lends credibility to torture , Std's , and drug use. The trickle down effect is obvious.

Watching porn can cause men to degrade the 'real' women in their lives. I would know, as my ex-husband is a porn freak. He could never get his fill of strange women, and was constantly telling me I was abnormal because I didn't want to behave like the women in these movies. He also made it clear that he believed all women are whores. Besides his blood relatives, of course. Everyone else was put here for his amusement. While perhaps he is just a jackass I think porn has done much to shape his attitudes.

Don't get it twisted. Porn is made from the masculine perspective, and it often degrades and humiliates the feminine.
You are confusing the concept of rape and humiliation. If I rape you, you have no choice. You must submit. I can humiliate you without raping you. For instance, I can pay you $3000 to lick bird crap off my shoe. The fact that you choose to do it does not empower you. Maybe you have to do it so you can eat, or afford school, or to make a rent payment. It's still humiliating and degrading.

I agree with you. The women who participate in the making of porn are paid very well. They do it by choice. Also it is the individual choice whether or not to look at it.
I do not believe it is degrading to anyone but the watchers and participants and then Only if they believe it to be degrading.

As a woman, I've never figured that one out myself. If a woman wants to do porn, that's totally her choice, and what I've heard from many confirms that a lot of them enjoy it and find it as fulfulling as many others do their own jobs.
