All of the above but as always PROFIT is the main reason; From the millions of answer's they find way's to make use of those they can - read the small print and you'll see They have Automatic copyright on anything WE come up with.All information is saleable to someone one and this is a massive way of gathering it.

You may also ask what is there to gain from free email accounts? I'm sure Yahoo! know what they're doing, they certainly won't be doing anything for a loss at the end of the day.

Lots of nosey people [spys and such] can join in and watch what any of us say over a few weeks and have a fuller understanding of how we work together to undo all their hard work, spying on us at our own expense.

Maybe they decided to conduct an experiment and see how many people they could get to answer and ask silly questions. Either that or their proba nosey and gossip mags just isn't enough for them :)

not sure but it is additive! maybe they like being the thought police, some of the questions removed were fine. they dont understand some humour i guess
