There was an article I read in our paper that a school is banning the game of tag along with tag football. Afraid of kids getting hurt.
At our recess, we had races, played tag and if we fell, skinned our knee, it actually healed and no one had broken bones from physical activity. We were active, even with 3 or 4 teachers on the playground.
You wonder why we have issues with today's youth.
No fun activities. They don't know how to create their own fun.
I feel sorry for them growing up today. Those who don't remember the 60's & 70's missed a lot.
Have a good day. Here, it is raining.........again.

No, childhood today is way too restrictive and hard. Expectations are too high (standardized test scores, homework in kindergarten, SAT preps in elementary school, etc.) and adults have pretty much taken a lot of fun out simple childhood things (like the tag ban). I remember running with the neighborhood kids for hours and now I have to constantly worry if my own children can handle playing in our front yard. Nah, the world obtained too much technology and now the innocence of childhood becomes a thing of the past.

We still try to allow our daughter to have fun and the carefree life of a child. I think there are so many divorces that family breakdown is the reason children miss out in their childhood. Nothing has changed in that their favourite toy is a box and making up their own games in play with each other still goes on. We don't have an X-box or nintendo as we do encourage the physical activity. We have to commit to being parents of our children and put them first in our life decisions. I don't believe in staying in abusive situations but I think a parent should do all they can do to encourage values, morals, self respect and respect for others in raising their children. The amount of child crime is on the rise and the school violence is truly frightening.

i can't talk for all Democrats yet i could be elated. the subject seems to be no person has stricken to define fulfillment or win for us. we've been advised the challenge grew to become into finished and that Al Qaeda grew to become into in its final throes however the mess keeps unabated. people are on third rotations to Iraq. Are you advocating 4th and 5th rotations? can we prefer a draft to fill in for the cannon fodder being lost daily over there? Frankly i do no longer provide a rat's in the back of approximately Iraq. I care approximately my own united states, which seems to have quite some issues top now despite the fact that if we don't contain Dubya's conflict of revenge. according to hazard if we provide up that insanity we can start to concentration on issues that are significant to our way of life and not attempt to mildew somebody into "mini us".

Every generation thinks that their childhood was the best. It is a sign of getting old when you start to look down on the youth of today.

Definately not - kids of today are so interested in tv, computers that they are loosing their humanity. I have come across children that are so anti social - that i worry about our future - especially since they are the "leaders" of tomorrow. i can remember playing cricket in the streets and the streets always being filled with children. with the degradation of todays society ou never see these type of things anymore...... and it is sad. children are not taught the finer skills anymore or even how to interact with each other - but to answer your question, i would not want to swop my childhood either
