Every drug that causes drowsiness is required to have a label. Some may have off label uses. Some like trazodone (an antidepressant often used for sleep) or benadryl (allergy medication) actually have other uses. Also some idiot might think that because it didn't put him to sleep right away that he should try driving across town.

Is that all? With the number of idiots out there looking for ways to hurt themselves so they can sue someone, I'm surprised they don't have to put:

Caution: ingesting pills by shoving them through your tear ducts may cause eye damage.

OR

Caution: these pills are not to be substituted for ear plugs.

.....don't even get me started on all the ways you could take the pills through your nose...or other places.

Sad thing is, society (and lawyers) have to respond to the lowest common denominator of society and the rest of us pay for it because there's people out there who refuse to take ANY responsibility for themselves. It is always someone else's fault.

Just like they have a warning "do not operate heavy machinery." Are there people out there that pop a few sleeping pills then jump in a dumptruck? If so...who are these people???

probably for their protection (the companys) if they didnt print it on there and someone got hurt they would probably try to sue and say no one told me they might make me drowsy its also strange that they wake you up at night in the hospital to give you a sleeping pill go figure

So Ding-A-Lings won't take them too early. Like before they're ready for bed, then go out & operate a car or something.
It's a caution for those other mal' adjusted who take other people's Meds & don't know why they were prescribed.

I always operate heavy machinery after taking sleeping pills - I don't know what the fuss is all about.

That farmer needed to renovate that barn anyway
