In some schools the game Tag has been banned, for reasons of lawsuits if children get injured while playing. A mother was quoted as saying "my child feels safer now, i've seen to many near collitions". Her statement is inept at most. Is her child that idiotic that he gets injured while running or having fun, and the near collitions part, that could be applied to driving, should we ban driving? George Carlin once said "the kid who eats glue does not grow up to have children of his own", in this case the kid who is too stupid and gets injured while playing tag will be the only one banned. What are your thoughts?

I just shake my head in amazement.

For 12 years I had "Phys. Ed." as they called it back then. 6th grade and up had locker rooms with showers, we had to "strip" and put on our uniforms, go out and sweat, get in scraps, run, exercise, get in more scraps, get smacked by the GYM Teacher or Coach. We each were also personally driven to make "President Kennedy's 500 Club" We used to launch from the swings, forward and backward, play Dodge-ball and Red Rover - both could get REAL brutal.

I'm still here....and I often think about the kids I grew up with, that played shirts and skins football in the streets and in the parks or vacant lots, baseball, hockey and the like, on a weekend at the empty school yard baseball diamond. Sometimes we fought over the use of these hallowed grounds.

Now, I guess kids are supposed to stand around with their fingers in there butts, taking Riddlin or Lithium to calm the natural hyper activity of a growingg child, all the while growin fatter and more depressed and learning diddly about social behavior...but, what the hell do I know?

It's said "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" Getting scratched and bruised and broken is part of growing up.

Suing a School District, or a Neighbor because your kid got a boo-boo while being a kid is just plain B.S.

I think it is ridiculous! Parents need to "take back" their kid's schools, maybe through a new and stronger PTA or PTO. I would have never stood for any of this crap (praying, playing, sexy teachers, etc.) when my 3 kids went through the same school for a period over 20 years. I have 6 grand children now. I only have the right to buy things they are selling, LOL, and MAYBE be aloud to see their school programs if I'm on the list, etc....can't even make cup cakes because some child may have a food allergy; get outta town (the expression-not literally)! Have you ever seen the email forward about how we older people ever made it this far without all the new gadgets/rules that modern kids have now-a-days? We need to go back to the old ways and simplify things again for the children's sakes and our family unit's sake, and society's sake. Don't be afraid, MOMS, get after it. I stormed up to that school plenty of times when need be. It worked.

I once got injured on the teeter-totter. I still see those things around. I guess I should have sued the company and had them all banned.
This ban is a joke. We have kids shooting up schools, teachers, and fellow classmates. And we want to ban tag? ha!
Priorities people...priorities.

I think that the school boards that eliminate tag, touch football and other 'competition' and 'chase' games should be voted out of office.

They are humbugs.
