This site is for people over 13. I am not trying to be rude . I agree some of the swearing is not appropriate for any age! You and only you can [and should] make the choice what is , and what is not proper for your child. In addition this is a world wide site and morals and values differ greatly from one country to another! Best of luck with your kids! You sound like you really care and that is a very good thing!

You will have the most insenstive people here in Yahoo answers. I don't think they should be able to see the answers here because some of the questions are too complex for them to understand. that's why they have an age limit here of atleast 13. It is imperative that people who do join have a strong emotional maturity or they are going to be fresh meat for some people here.

don't get me wrong, I think there is too much hatred spewing here it's like Krakatao but it's not a wise thing to do let your children surf this area if they are under 13 years of age. This place is the place where you will slowly become desensitised... and you don't want that for your children. This area is toooooo much of a hatred cespool for a young mind.

It's not my jurisdiction to tell you what to do but this area is a no go zone for a growing mind because of its nature. It's up to you if you.

I personally would not allow my children access to this site, they grow up quick enough today without reading some of the things on here.

It's the internet. It's going to happen. Put some parental controls on sites that your kids go on and get over it. Or just don't let them on the computer.
Take some freaking responsibility as a parent. You should be monitoring what your kids look at on the internet.

Sometimes a swear word is the perfect answer, but you're right it shouldn't be on a site accessed by children, or indeed anyone who doesn't like foul language. Maybe a separate area for swearers would be welcome?

What sort of mother are you to allow your children to read what is on here anyway? Children are impressionable and they could take on board all sorts of things which will have an adverse effect on their future lives. Rather than criticise, why don't you just stop them reading it There, I am being just as judgemental as you.

People are people I suppose. But of course if you ask the question and there is abuse I suppose you could report the individual, there is a link at the bottom of their response. Of course this won't stop them but they do lose points.

There was a case of a young lady whose profile had a picture of her breasts, and she kept questionning why she was losing points. Umm inappropriate picture.

As a mother you are protective and I understand you concern.

But as a visitor to YA you will never be able to stop profanity on YA!

Perhaps it is best you don't allow your children to come here.

You can't shield your children from expletives forever, read Chaucer, Shakespeare, Huxley - all full of them. Are you going to stop your children from reading classic literature too?
