So far as I know there never was a Prince of England: we had a King (or Queen) from the time England became a Kingdom - indeed before that the area of England was a number of kingdoms (e.g. Kent, Wessex, Mercia) each with its own king. The Prince of Wales was first and independent ruler and then, after the English conquered Wales, a title given to the King's eldest son.

Never heard of there being a Prince of England. Prince of Wales is the title given to the eldest son of the reigning monarch. You say in 'ancient time' - what time do you mean? In the very very old days no doubt the guy who was the strongest with the biggest army would have had greater 'authority'.

Depends what you mean by "Ancient Britain". I believe this term is usually used to denote Pre-Roman times and therefore is prior to the Anglo-Saxon invasion. This means that there would have been no "Prince of England" (or even a King) as there were no "English" people. There also would not have been a "Wales" as we know it as the Welsh, or Britons as they were called, lived throughout what is now England, Wales and Southern Scotland.

Prince of England didn't exist, it was just a prince and in ancient times Wales was made of principalities so welsh princes would only have a small area of Wales.

The was not such thing as the Prince of Britain, any son of the King was a prince. The Prince of Wales was or is a title conferred on the eldest son of the King.
