Let me say this... I would not be suprised if there new new phones out slightly after Christmas. Verizon would love people to buy a new razr for a gift and then find out that it is out of date and buy another one a few weeks later.

I just upgraded my Verizon Wireless phones and noticed that they've come out w/ new ones, just in time for Christmas gift giving.
BTW, the ability of VZW, and every other carrier for that matter, to come out w/ new phones is dependent on the manufacturers making them. So you could check out the press releases from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, etc, and see what they're previewing.
