Yes. A while ago they sent me a gas bill for around £300.00. Actually it was a `final reminder` although it was the only one we had had from them. They threatened to take me to court for non-payment. I told them to "go ahead", the point being, we had no gas supply to our house as it was `in the middle of no where`, and gas was not available. Even so. it was another three months before it was sorted out by them!!!

British Gas is an ailment particular to the northern climes. It results from the consumption of cabbage. Unfortunately, Alka Seltzer and Tums have no effect upon the symptoms. The gas must be release through a bodily orifice. This is why, in contrast to Arabs who get nose-to-nose while speaking, the British prefer a rather large gap of body space.

Yes, they are hopeless and take ages to solve problems.
We subscribed to one of their packages and for months they denied we had done so. Finally a clever girl did find our application , but then they persisted in wanting to put us in the next package and writing to us when it was obvious from our file that we were locked in the previous one.
This week they wrote to say they had to raise our direct debit by ten pounds a month because our consumption was more than we paid . Yesterday we got our bill for this term. Not only are we in CREDIT but they are sitting on over £120 of our money.
I now resort to emails in huge letters and bright red. That usually makes them take notice. GOOD LUCK

hi, its unusual for british gas to delay helping their customers. my hubby works for them and staff do usually push meter issues thru quickly. keep ringing them untill its sorted.
