Do what feels right in your heart, but a lot of things has changed in 8 years, and I would not be expecting too much.

as i understand your question, you are asking if you should stay in touch with someone that you have know for 8 yrs, and had lots of feeling for..one of the greats things we can do for each other is learn to forgive and not allow any past to keep us from caring about each other..there is no reason why you shouldn't keep in contact..if you have known this person for that long, and are not in a relationship with no longer..don't give up that friendship..it is always a good thing that we can walk out of a relationship and still be friends..blessings
