I'm a moderate Liberal, but should my Dems win just because they are the 'other guys'? This is just stupid! We need a multi party system in America! If both the current parties resist having more parties brought into the power structure, than it must be the right thing to do. With only two parties that trade off power, they can play off each other without having to make any real changes. Dem or Repub, a congressman is a congressman and isn't going to vote to reduce their own pay. Will a third, fourth, and fifth party in America ever be realistic or viable?

I think that would be much better. Problem is the whole system would resist that. Big business sure wouldn't want that. The whole lobby system is based on the fact there are only two parties to bribe. They would just throw as much money as they had to at anyone who looked like they had a chance.

You would have to have some kind of person running.

You bet! I am tired of voting for people who tell lies to me. Even though many people say it's compromise, by handing them a free vote, aren't we giving them PERMISSION to lie? Enough is enough.

Overall the Democrats and Republicans have run to the middle so much and placated so many people with money, that there's not a thin dime's difference in their overall performance.

They do not know how to help people and both parties support all "War on X". They only know how to draft restrictive and punitive laws. Politicians and governments are not good at "convincing" people. Only FORCING them to obey.

Getting more people to vote in the first place will help diminish the power politicians have of buying groups' support with campaign promises.

For me, I vote third party only. If I see a DorR only, I don't pick. I won't be responsible for putting big money hand-shakers back into office.

A reform party is needed for certain, one that enforces a contract with the voters, the republican party sprang from a 3rd party, so theres a good chance, it does involve big dollars etc. and by the time its al said and done will they become corrupt just to play the game?

We already have more than two parties. The reason the two main parties got 95% or more of the votes on most races is because the voters don't need more than two choices.

NO,WHAT WE NEED IS TERM LIMITS! THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANYONE IN OFFICE FOR MORE THAN ONE TERM INCLUDING THE PRESIDENT! THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LIVE THE LAVISH LIFE STYLE"BOTH PARTIES" AND RETIRE WITH A FULL US,PENSION! THEN YOU WOULD HAVE ALOT LESS BUREAUCRACY IN GOVERNMENT AND WOULD END MOST OF THE DIVIDE AND BRING MORE PEOPLE INTO THE VOTING PROCESS!

3rd party means 66% angry at the winner...

I do think both parties need to be more well defined tho. Gay marrage, taxes, and abortions arent the only issues.
