He is on joke time, How old is he, if asked for no contact, why? is he the one picking up the phone. maybe your too good to leave alone. Ride it out and see what happens. maybe he wanted to see how your reaction would be or to see how fast it would take for you to move on. Wait and see he'll probably come back if not just look back at as a person from your past

Sounds to me like he isn't over you. As far as ringing the phone goes. He could be just wanting to hear your voice and then chickens out so hangs up, or maybe he wants to see if another guy answers.
I've been in a similiar situation where i was always chasing him down when he would leave. When I'd stop he'd be begging for me to come back to him again. We all want someone to want us, and he apparently wants to make certain that your thinking of him.
Try not to give in and call him, he wanted it over so let him have what he wants

He is playing games with you. He fully expected you to dissolve into a blubbering mass of jello at the receipt of his first note. Since you didn't ...he is putting out little feelers of messages designed to remind you how great he is and get you to boost his ego by begging him to come back so that he can say he doesn't think it's a good idea. Just ignore him and save yourself the time and trouble.

He probably realised his mistake, but as he broke up, he can't dare to talk to you normally. If he can't talk to you and explain what he feels it means that even if you get together he'll feel the guilt and this will surely end up as a problem between you two later. Let him approach you and than decide, I suggest.

How did you know it was him? Maybe he was just curious to see if you had the same number. The best thing you can do it to leave him be as you are doing. Be strong!

Just dont call him...sounds like he is a bit immature, not being able to hold up HIS rules...you're better off without him!

He's being a jerk. Keep on doing what you're already doing--ignore him. He'll back off if he gets no response from you.
