anymore and its been a week since we've been ignoring each other he says hi to me today

This sounds like a really unfortunate situation.
I have a feeling this guy may have got the wrong impression when you gave him a gift for his birthday. Maybe he thought you were wanting to be more than 'just friends', and was a little freaked out by it.
Some people read to much into these kind of situations, which is what I think your friend has done here. The best idea is to have a chat with him, suggest to him that he's being a little silly, and then everything should return to normal.

Sounds like he forgot what the word friend means first off ! and are you saying you offered him a gift and he refused it ?... that offering of a gift leaves allot to think about and could really answer your problem here ... a true friend will never treat a Friend like he is treating you ... that's what you need to tell him .... confront him, tell him how your feeling and how you thought you were are friends and how can he just blow you off , and if you feel your gift offended him them tell him so be open and honest then you will never have a doubt in your mind you did not try to fix what is wrong with your friendship best of luck and do not let this effect you from being the good person you are with your other friends ! just be you ! First of all, he doesn't aprreactiate you, I don't know what is wrong with him, maybe he has issues in his life that he needs to get straighten out. It is probably not you, but him with the problem. Tell him how you feel. Talk to him and see what you can find out. Good luck.

He probably thought you had big ideas... maybe in pursuing him as a bf.....
Some people are not used to kind gestures and maybe he didn't know how to take it.
Talk to him. he is your friend and let me kow he can breathe a sigh of relief, cause you are just buds......
