George Bush was first elected in 2000 (taking office in January 2001), and re-elected in 2004. The presidency is a 4 year term in office, and a person can only serve as president for 2 elected terms. This means that he cannot run again for president. The next election is in November 2008, and whoever is elected then will replace Bush in office in January 2009.

US Presidents are elected every four years. The last Presidential election was in November, 2004, so 2008 is when the next POTUS will be elected.

The 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution limits the number of terms that someone may be President to 2, although someone may serve a few years longer if they are Vice President and have to take over the office. (So far, a VP who has had to assume the office of President has not been able to win re-election twice.) President Bush will have served two full terms in 2008, so he will no longer be eligible to hold that office.

There are actually elections every year here in the US for state and local candidates. Elections for Congressional seats are held every two years on even-numbered years, and so there is some speculation as to which party will win the majority of seats in the two branches of Congress.

George Bush grew to become into extremely the worst president. For the universal time in our united states's actual historic previous, torture and kidnapping youngsters was a coverage of america. to no longer factor out each of different constitutional unullments Bush did. that's a strategies worse than Wilson's Fed, which, by the way, further us into the twentieth century on par with something of the more suitable worldwide.

How can anybody ask such a dumb question? Don't you read newspapers, listen to the radio, watch television? Don't you remember the 2000 election when Bush and his cohorts "won" Florida on a spurious vote count?
