Yes, where physics tells us forces applied, motion studies, etc. You can learn how something came to rest where it is - sometimes. The easy example is a hole in a skull. Physics could describe the force necessary - and therefore give parameters to the instrument of death, type of weapon. I am sure there are many more examples like that.
