I agree with beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and like every other community you have your goodlooking and normal looking (there's no such thing as ugly in my books). Why do a lot of people think that all gay men are goodlooking and all lesbians are ugly? It doesn't make any sense.

I have mainly heard this saying from straight women before. It does seem that everytime I am interested in a really hot guy...he is gay. This could also explain the lez remark. If this does come from straight women, then it would be natural for them to think that about lesbiens (stereotype).

To tell you the truth, this is a generalisation. Most gay men and lesbians I know just look like regular people. That is why it was a bit of an eye opener whenever I go to Queer Only clubs or events like Mardi Gras, because I think hell, I've never met people who look like that in day to day life and I have no idea, but some of those people must hide and only come out for media events featuring so called representatives from the gay and lesbian community. Also, I really agree with the person above me, who states that it is a persons personality that lasts with time and frankly, I'd rather have a good conversation over a piece of fairy floss any day.

No, it takes all types. I know plenty of less attractive gay men but it is always the good looking ones who are out on the town living it up so maybe it is just that the good looking ones have a higher profile.

Don't know who you have been talking to or who you have been seeing but that statement is not true.
Yes! Like other folks we have the folks that are eye candy but what do you find beneth the wrapper?
It's not the looks sugar-it's the personality.
The lady I fancy happens to have both.
We all see the looks first-that's natural. Then we get to know them and that will tell the story.
Looks fade and tarnish but the personality is a main core.

well,most of the gay men are handsome but there are few who are ugly anyway I think They are handsome and attracting women isn't a hard work for them so they start to catch the boys mind...hehe....and lesbians are ugly because they couldn't find a boy friend for themselves and the onliest way for them is have sex with each other

there are many shapes and sizes
ugly but interesting..pretty uninteresting
some us are born pretty
some of us born not so pretty (gay or whatever)
I guess its just stereotyping
